FORMULA

Vitamin B complex

Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) promotes skin renewal by acting on the germinative layer in the dermis and the epidermis. Thus it stimulates hair follicle growth. Moreover, due to its excellent moisturising properties, vitamin B5 prevents drying and makes the hair shiny and manageable.

Vitamin B8 (biotin) has a stimulating effect on the hair follicle, together with demonstrated action against seborrhoea.

Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is essential to protein and amino acid metabolism, particularly sulfurated amino acids (cystine and methionine).

Vitamin B12 promotes methionine synthesis and activates keratin synthesis.

Zinc

Zinc is essential to keratin synthesis, acting synergistically with vitamin B6. Zinc also inhibits 5-alpha reductase, an enzyme present in the hair bulb and the sebaceous gland and which is responsible for the transformation of testosterone into its active derivative, dihydrotestosterone. Alopecia may be related to an excess of dihydrotestosterone in the hair follicle. Thus, a zinc deficiency is more often than not accompanied by hair loss, nail deterioration and skin dryness.

Amino Acids

Methionine is a precursor and activator of keratin synthesis.
Cystine helps to increase hair diameter and stimulates regrowth in cases of hair loss with no pathological cause.
